Lucid Dreaming Techniques: How to Have a Lucid Dream

The most widely recommended lucid dreaming techniques are DILD, WILD, WBTB and FILD. There are literally dozens of other lucid dreaming techniques; however, the four techniques listed above are the major and most effective ones.

DILD stands for Dream Induced Lucid Dreaming or Dream Initiated Lucid Dream.

WILD stands for Wake Induced Lucid Dreaming or Wake Initiated Lucid Dream.

WBTB stands for Wake Back to Bed.

FILD stands for Finger Induced Lucid Dreaming or Finger Initiated Lucid Dream.

Other variants of DILD include: Hypnosis Induced Lucid Dream (HILD), Mnemonic Induced Lucid Dream (MILD), Visually Incubated Lucid Dream (VILD) and Confidence Dream Feeling Induced Lucid Dream (CDFILD).

What is DILD?

A Dream Initiated Lucid Dream occurs during a normal dream. While in a normal dream, you can use one of several techniques to convert the normal dream into a lucid dream. This technique is called DILD because the lucid dream is triggered while in a normal dream.
